Plastic is used extensively, especially in the packaging industry, but environmental pollution is caused by people unconsciously releasing plastic packaging into nature. Environmental pollution can be prevented if people are more conscious because plastic is a completely recyclable material and is very valuable. Once plastics serve a useful purpose, they can be reprocessed or used as alternative fuels.
Since plastic packaging is lighter, cheaper, and causes much less pollution during the production process, plastic has many environmentally friendly features, contrary to popular belief. Since plastics also enable economical and safe packaging of consumer goods, more than 50 percent of the products in the world use plastic packaging.
